I obviously haven’t been going to my normal gym during all of this virus. It’s been quite a transition to working out at home. One thing I’ve noticed is that I’m more likely to go to failure when I’m at home. I can only assume it’s psychological. I think when I’m at the gym I hold back so I don’t risk looking stupid because I’m still not totally comfortable there or with my body. At home I can grunt as loud as I need to get that last rep, drop my weight on the ground loudly, struggle with that final push-up only to collapse exhausted. I know I could do that at the gym, but I don’t. I still worry what people think of me I guess. That’s an annoying revelation. But at least I’m still lifting!
